Trali trala - the artwork is here!

Eureka! The artwork for the HARD:LINE Film Festival 2024 is here! Our new designer Christian Fernández Larrere gives us a devilishly ingenious face - muhaha!
HARDLINE Film Festival 2024, Poster Artwork

It was hard to say goodbye to Heike Jörss. After our much-loved graphic designer had provided the HARD:LINE Film Festival with cool illustrations for ten years, it was time to say goodbye in 2023: Over and out! Heike wanted to make room for others and give the next generation of artists a chance. Knowing how important and atmospheric the artwork is for the appearance of a film festival, this bad news initially left us in a state of shock.

We are all the happier that we have found an experienced artist in Christian Fernández Larrere, who has agreed to follow in Heike's footsteps. And we think he's a great fit for us! Christian is well versed in the film industry. He is a director, producer and screenwriter with Chilean roots. In the film "Sommerkälte" (2016), he demonstrates his acting skills. Of particular interest to us in this case: Christian is active as a comic artist. In collaboration with artist friends Juan Vásquez and Stefan Heß, Larrere published the graphic novel "Trash Days", in which two Johnny Cash-worshipping professional killers called "Crash & Burn" cause a sensation with their sarcasm and noir twists. Larrere has also demonstrated a skillful knack for poster motifs on several occasions ("Weekend Of Fear").

What elegant design does Christian Fernández Larrere now offer us for the HARD:LINE 2024? A graphic like an iconic oil painting. The venue Regensburg - clearly recognizable with its cathedral and old town - and, correctly located, a horned figure rises in the east, where the HARD:LINE Film Festival will be held in April 2024. The Beelzebub obscures the sun, but at the same time provides a projection surface for our 11th festival edition by spreading out his cloak. With his right hand - threatening, lunging for a cinematic clear-cut? With the left hand - provocatively signaling how much courage you have to muster to get to the HARD:LINE? In any case, the mischievous smile fits us like a glove!

Satanic? Yes. Melodramatic? Definitely. Thank you Christian for this devilishly ingenious design! Here's to you hopefully giving the HARD:LINE a creative touch in 2024 and beyond.
