We’ve gotta have a party! After the legendary Sublime party—which was a staple of Regensburg’s indie scene and a regular feature of our festival—came to an end, we’d been asking ourselves every now and then whether these after-show parties were even necessary. We could do without them, right? Surely everyone can party however they want, right? After giving it plenty of thought, we’ve come to the conclusion: yes, we need a party! And here’s why: these parties remind us of what HARD:LINE was actually founded on. Namely, a cozy get-together of friends who watch genre films and then discuss them—preferably with a cold drink or two. To stay true to that original spirit, we say yes to the party, yes to getting together, yes to dialogue—and we’re happy to do so in an unconventional, relaxed, and not-quite-so-formal atmosphere.
We realized long ago that the Kinokneipe is the perfect spot for this. A bar right behind the movie screen—where else can you find that? With the Kinokneipe as our gathering place, we’re inviting you once again this year to a cheerful, lively, and peaceful exchange of ideas, a get-together… oh, what’s the point of all this banter!? Have fun with our films and then treat yourselves to a cold beer—or ten! A film festival is meant to be celebrated, and this year the soundtrack will be provided by the two DJs Uglyface Butterhand & Wolly Winker—two local heroes and a fixture at the regular, locally held record auction. You’ve already caught the hint: Vinyl is king! That’s why Uglyface and Wolly enforce a strict “vinyl only” rule. From post-punk to Postbank. From hip-hop to flip-flops. From the Beastie Boys to Ezra Furman. From Shivvers to Bowie. The finest vinyl will be spun—from 10 PM to 4 AM! Free admission! Come on down!
