It's impossible to imagine our program without them: our short films! In two varied blocks, we show you genre short films from all over the world with the aim of entertaining you in every conceivable way. It can be pretty creepy or really cheesy. It's all in the mix... This year, we are once again putting out 16 short films, 10 of which will be in the running for the Méliès D'Argent, the jury award presented by all member festivals of the Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF). Our winner will then be sent to Sitges for the final round. You can find more information about our jury below.
You can also look forward to 6 international highlights that are not taking part in the competition. But they are all also vying for your favor, because every entry can become the winner of hearts and dust off our Audience Award, the "Silver Razor Blade". So you can look forward to:

THE JURY
Andre Groenhoff
Andre left his stops at Legend, Splendid and Meteor Film behind him and broke new ground in 2016. He founded the Indeed Film label and has since been responsible for the careful release of many bock-strong genre gems!
Alix Austin
For KILL YOUR LOVER, she formed a directing duo with Keir Siewert and is one half of the production company Switchblade Cinema, which we know well: RETCH screened in our competition in 2018. Now she is on the jury.
Dominic Saxl
You've read him. Because Dominic has been a copywriter for years. You can read him in Deadline or in advertising, for example. As a producer, he is jointly responsible for the Christmas horror anthology DEATHCEMBER.
PROGRAMMER
Michael Orth
Why interfere when there are absolute professionals? As founder and co-organizer of the short film festival in Landshut, he has proven expertise. Upon closer inspection, however, it becomes clear that a real genre freak is at work here. With the Shock Blocks and the Deadline Award, the Landshut festival is an address in itself. Michael Orth programs the short film blocks for us!
