“Recaps, recaps, recaps!!!” – Our media partners are stepping it up

Our media partners Viva la Movielución and Neon Zombie have joined forces with other film critics and are providing additional festival coverage.

Wow, how time flies! It’s been almost a month now since we sat in the Ostentor Kino and the beer garden of the Kinokneipe, sharing our thoughts and discussing movies. “It feels like it was ages ago already,” some of you might say—and yet the experience still resonates with us. Which movie made the biggest impact on you? Which encounter stands out most in your memory? Word has gotten around that HARD:LINE is a labor of love and, for some, almost like a family reunion—and we feel that very strongly ourselves. But just how much a love for genre films can truly bring people together is something our media partners had to experience firsthand. The result is more festival reports than usual—from more perspectives, by more creative minds.

Let’s start with our valued media partner, Neon Zombie. Unfortunately, they were unable to attend the festival in person due to scheduling conflicts. Representing them was Christian Genzel from“Lichtspielplatz,”with whom Markus from Neon Zombie maintains close ties and a collaborative relationship. You can find out what Christian thought of HARD:LINE 2026 in his podcast, which we certainly don’t want to keep from you. You can listen to it on Spotify or check out some visuals on his website wilsonsdachboden.com —be sure to stop by!

Our loyal media partners, Viva la Movielución, had a similar yet completely different experience. They had a blast at the film festival—and since fun is known to bring people together, the four guys from Lower Bavaria struck up a friendship with like-minded folks, specifically the two Swiss guys fromthe “Art or Trash Cinema Podcast.” Something came out of this cinematic collaboration, so this year the Vivas aren’t just delivering their regular festival report, but are crowning their cinematic fling with an extra special episode on the “Do’s & Don’ts” of the HARD:LINE Film Festival. Be sure to check it out! And psst: hot tip! The second part of this crossover is coming on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, on the “Art or Trash” channel—so stay tuned!
