That is what it is about

Tess was stillborn, but revived in the morgue by a lightning strike. On her 16th birthday, she sets out to find her mother - and her electrokinetic powers help her to clear all obstacles out of the way. Meanwhile, her mother Lena is searching for her supposedly dead daughter's grave and encounters inconsistencies. Will the strange series of murders among her acquaintances have anything to do with it and will the two ever find each other?

What you should know

With the iconic Barbara Crampton as actress Laura, Richards pulls off a metafictional coup in REBORN, seamlessly weaving her Scream Queen image with the supernatural Frankenstein story and a tender mother-daughter drama. After THE LAST HORROR MOVIE, he again takes up the film business as a theme, reflecting both the working conditions of worn-out genre actors and actresses shrewdly and cleverly as well as classic formats of horror cinema.

Direction

After brief excursions into television and the expansion of the distribution company Jinga Films, Richards followed up his earlier successes with the almost simultaneously released films REBORN and DADDY'S GIRL. For the double feature, he picked up the "Best Director Award" at the Fantasporto Festival in Portugal. He is also currently involved in the 24-part Advent short bus project DEATHCEMBER, which is due for release in 2019.
