That is what it is about

A British couple spend their vacation in a rural vacation resort, but find anything but relaxation there. Instead, Ryan and Rebecca come across the last-ditch followers of a cult, the "Servants of Blood", who want to bring one of the great old gods back to life. They want nothing less than to bring about the end of the world. Sounds good - but there are a few details that the cowl-bearers haven't reckoned with. And you certainly didn't either!

What you should know

Cosmic horror in the spirit of H. P. Lovecraft, which logically opens with a quote from the master and the celebration of a ritual reminiscent of a late scene in the CASTLE FREAK remake. Unlike most comparable indie films, however, this story about the resurrection of a mythical end-time creature not only focuses on the shockingly incomprehensible, but also on veritable narrative twists. And, of course, splatter de luxe: here, "apocalypse" is still written in blood.

Direction

Kai Bogatzki made his feature film debut as a director in 2017 with the serial killer portrait SCARS OF XAVIER. Before that, however, he had already made a name for himself in the independent scene as an editor for Timo Rose and Marcel Walz, for whom he edited his remake of BLOOD FEAST, for example. By the way, you can ask Kai personally how to make truly original genre films in Germany with limited resources, as he will be there at our screening!
