That is what it is about

Thanks to his sword and the ability to... er... deduce, a samurai is notorious in feudal Japan. All the vermin of the ancient Far East tremble before his vengeance - be they nasty ninjas, evil robots, aliens or penis monsters. The world-famous series TOP KNOT DETECTIVE is nothing less than a grenade. But what actually became of director, actor, screenwriter and editor Takashi Takamoto? Does he and the series even exist?

What you should know

With its absurd characters, insane plotlines and insane violence, TOP KNOT DETECTIVE comes damn close to the Japanese series (which we never knew, but always suspected). The directing duo McCann and Pierce do everything right in this fake documentary and not only pour fake blood in masses over their protagonists, but also bombard the audience's diaphragm with violent attacks of laughter! A completely crazy declaration of love to Japanese entertainment culture!

Direction

Their most recent film TOP KNOT DETECTIVE is the feature film debut for both directors. Previously, Irishman Aaron McCann had caused a stir with his short films, especially Down Under. IT'S A SNAP in particular quickly became a viral hit. Dominic Pearce, on the other hand, was mainly involved as an editor in short films and documentaries and was able to contribute his expertise here. One can only hope that the two will make good on their threat and soon send MY LITTLE ITALIAN STALLIONS our way. We would be ready!
