Step by step, Janie regains control over her life. Janie's therapy is led by Irma, who demands iron discipline and demands everything from the young woman. Success, however, makes it possible for her to step out into the free world again for a limited time. But on her very first outing, she can hardly believe her eyes when she thinks she meets herself. Irritated and confused, she spies the "other" and falls into a bloody abyss of madness and obsession.
The world of Janie opens up in glistening light and hypnotically filmed. From minute to minute, this cinematic gem becomes darker and takes the viewer into a mad Escher labyrinth from which there is no escape. Sarah Hagen shines in the leading role and leaves her audience stunned. Somewhere between I SEE, I SEE and STARRY EYES lies this nasty, fine and outstanding piece of genre art. A film as beautiful as it is disturbing - as disturbing as it is fascinating!
