There were years when more films were submitted. Especially in the early days of our activities on Filmfreeway and Festhome, when we were bombarded with false submissions. Today, however, almost all films are eligible for our festival. There is no one to hide from. In other words, the work has been made much more difficult. For this, the submitting filmmakers deserve our thanks - quite unsarcastically. It was great fun to watch the films.
From these more than 400 films, the task now is to pick out 15 long-film gems and 16 short films. No easy undertaking. But we are confident that we can put together a wonderful, exciting and disturbing programme. And as always, the promise is: There will be something for everyone in the programme, but there will also be a film for everyone that doesn't fit into the concept at all. Discovering films, sensing currents, celebrating film festivals. That is HARD:LINE also in 2022.
