That is what it is about

No word for days, then suddenly this letter. What happened to Sara still remains in the dark. The author claims to have Julia and Oliver's daughter in his power. Nothing will happen to her if they agree to meet the kidnapper. When the doorbell rings and the man enters the house, the family faces an endless night of truth. By dawn, nothing will be the same. Not a shred of hope will remain. Only despair!

What you should know

Very slowly, this dark work begins to unfold and tighten the noose around the viewer's neck. When BAJO LA ROSA finally strikes with full force, it is already too late. This beast is so intense that one could almost overlook the terrific acting, the fine dialogue work and the fascinating script. A sinister crescendo about the monster that is man! Even Michael Haneke could add nothing more here. What a great psychological thriller!

Direction

Josué Ramos had already made a name for himself with short films before he presented his first feature film, INVULCRADO, in 2013. This autobiographical Hitchcock reference already hinted at the talent slumbering in the young Spaniard. A suspicion that was confirmed with his second film BAJO LA ROSA. His thriller became one of the most successful Spanish festival exports of all time... And, as you will see, quite rightly so. A gifted director!
