That is what it is about

Martin has always had problems. But when a confused message is babbled on the answering machine, Ed and Lyla decide to go and see what their brother is up to. Together they travel to the lonely cabin by the forest lake. But Martin's joy at the family reunion is limited. The danger is too great for everyone - because the government is conducting gruesome experiments in the area and Martin has caught one of the monsters they have bred. But can you believe a madman?

What you should know

Icy landscapes, lonely cabins, madness and conspiracies - this is the stuff of paranoia nightmares. But this is also the stuff of X-FILES and TWILIGHT ZONE, in whose tradition Keating's film stands. POD is a wild genre mix of mindfuck, science fiction and horror film. False leads are laid, paranoia is stirred up and the viewer is sometimes thrown for a loop. This nasty independent piece will give fans of Friedkin's BUG a lot of pleasure.

Direction

Mickey Keating's third film is also his first. The first film to break free from the look of an amateur film. It is only in POD that his flair for packing paranoia into lingering images is revealed quite openly. This did not go unnoticed for long, and so the sci-fi thriller celebrated its premiere at the globally esteemed SXSW festival. The reactions were mixed. Hardly surprising, since Keating dismantles all expectations and is brave enough to develop his own visions.
