That is what it is about

Deep in the woods, Adam lives in a cabin and spends his days hunting, shooting at cans... and waiting for a creature called SATOR. For years, the shapeless fiend has been influencing the family. Manipulating them, driving them mad, whispering, hissing, interfering. Adam's goal is to get closer to the entity, to question its meaning and find explanations for dead people in the family. But the forest is silent until one day SATOR breaks the silence.

What you should know

Jordan Graham goes deep into his own family history and explores themes of mental illness and dementia. The grandmother in this film is his actual grandmother. A woman who has forgotten everyone around her. Everyone except SATOR. You can't describe films like this, you can't fathom them. They lurk, whisper and hiss and manipulate us. SATOR is an intense, disturbing and frightening film that has long outlived its "insider tip" rating. Great cinema!

Direction

Jordan Graham, born in 1986 in Santa Cruz, worked for five years on his second feature film SATOR. Previously, he had produced projects ranging from short films to feature films to music videos for many years without any formal film training. With SATOR, however, he went a decisive step further. Due to the minimal budget, Graham had to do almost everything himself, resulting in a unique and very personal film. You have to thank Graham for his openness and art of staging.
