That is what it is about

A policewoman lies in the gutter, brutally beaten up and covered in blood. From then on, she and her partner have to deal with the serious consequences. Bruce in particular cannot come to terms with the situation and seeks revenge! Every evening he sets out to beat the perpetrators of violence with their own weapons. Clad in a protective suit and hooded, he mercilessly fights his way through Toronto's nights and runs the risk of crossing all moral boundaries...

What you should know

Steamy alleys, neon lights and somnambulistic slow motion catapult the viewer directly into the dark setting of the film. What already has magical appeal is completed with a pounding synth rhythm. The visionary brutality, far removed from all splatter aesthetics, makes it clear that we are dealing with a truly exceptional vigilante film. Almost as if Winding Refn had consciously decided against expensive indie cinema. THE DEMOLISHER is raw, brutal and beautiful!

Direction

In Canada itself, Gabriel Carrer is hard to imagine genre circles without him. With his first film IF A TREE FALLS in 2010, he was able to attract a lot of attention and make a name for himself. A little later, he confirmed his reputation as an interesting independent director with IN THE HOUSE OF FLIES. THE DEMOLISHER, however, proves that Carrer is a visionary whose talents are versatile. Above all, however, he has the ability to shape style and atmosphere into a breathtaking whole.
