That is what it is about

Max Parry makes wedding videos - and likes to kill people. He documents his murders in a video diary and comments on his deeds in witty introductions. Garnished with tips and tricks from the psychopath's ABC, such as cooking recipes Hannibal Lecter would be pleased with, he styles his film as an art project about life and death. Always on board: his apprentice, who wants to work his way up to killer as a cameraman, and his new accomplices - us, the audience.

What you should know

Alongside the Belgian MAN BITES DOG, Julian Richard's THE LAST HORROR MOVIE is one of the most iconic fake-snuff films in the found footage look. Bitterly evil and with an ending that packs a punch, the serial killer Max sweeps his sympathetic audience into a whirlpool of shock, charm and cannibalistic carnage. Previously only available in Germany in a version cut by nine minutes, we are finally showing THE LAST HORROR MOVIE in the uncut version.

Direction

Julian RichardsJulian Richards started making his own films in Super 8 format when he was 13. He continues his DIY approach to this day. In 2003 he founded his own production company Prolific Films, which enabled him to make the controversial THE LAST HORROR MOVIE on a very tight budget. In 2012, he followed this up with his own distribution company, Jinga Films, which makes Richards an exciting figure in the film business, as he knows both the production and distribution side very well.
