That is what it is about

Father David is a devout priest, but his services remain empty. Because it's Christmas, he feels obliged to demonstrate his humility in a special way. Without further ado, David takes in homeless Terry at his home - the ultimate test of faith. Terry not only smokes, drinks and listens to loud heavy metal at night, no, he also lets his equally dissolute girlfriend Lexi move into the parish home without being asked. Has David brought the devil himself into the house?

What you should know

Unwelcome house guests who don't want to leave have been around for a long time, and not just since ALF. THE LEECH, however, leaves the terrain of conventional comedy and shows itself darker, nastier and dirtier. As a pitch-black chamber play, to which nothing seems to be sacred. The US production takes us to the limits of charity and hospitality, as its characters cook up their very own sinful soup. THE LEECH is entertainment cinema of the nastiest kind, to which an open-minded audience can toast delightfully. Cheers!

Direction

Independent director Eric Pennycoff (SADISTIC INTENTIONS) achieved international attention with THE LEECH. He seems to have a knack for the macabre. Likewise for the choice of actors, especially Jeremy Gardner (THE BATTERY, AFTER MIDNIGHT) as houseguest Terry - just wonderfully fucked up! Inspired by attending a Catholic school as a teenager, Pennycoff was particularly concerned with the Christmas theme. An anti-Christmas movie and on Maundy Thursday? Yeah, you can do that!
