That is what it is about

The phone rings, but no one answers. Never again will the other person pick up the receiver, never again will the young woman be seen. When Dan returns from his business trip, nothing is the same. His wife has disappeared under mysterious circumstances and she is not the first to be seemingly swallowed up by this house. Reaching the brink of madness, Dan embarks on a search and plunges into a world of pain, sex and death.

What you should know

A genuflection to Dario Argento is almost every one of their films, but in THE STRANGE COLOR OF YOUR BODY'S TEARS the directing team once again shows that giallo is their metier. And yet they add another facet to their portfolio: their second feature film has become a dark and inscrutable film that ensnares its viewers with wonderfully surreal images, ultimately driving them almost crazy. David Lynch has got strong competition here!

Direction

Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani could be described as the kings of the modern giallo, who celebrated their globally acclaimed debut back in 2009 with AMER. Their first film enriched the film landscape with never-before-seen images and an unmistakable style. Later, the two realised a part in THE ABCS OF DEATH and now present their second feature-length film. In doing so, they have lost none of the magical surrealism. These talents will still provide much cinematic pleasure.
