For centuries this has been a secret, but now an intrepid camera team has set out to take a closer look at the life and death of the revenants in a vampire flat-share. From carpet cleaning to stale fashion crimes, from washing the dishes to seductive sex dances for the flatmates - everything is relentlessly revealed here.

What you should know

The directorial duo Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement tell the crazy story of four vampires and their all-too-normal everyday life in a shared flat with authentic-looking documentary means. The ideas bubble up and so does the blood from the jugular veins. Without ever losing the thread, the film consistently follows its chosen path. Jemaine Clement is already a big name, especially in small circles, and has provided hours of exhilaration with his bizarre FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS. Together with his buddy, comedian Taika Waitit (BOY), he has now set out to completely turn the vampire genre upside down. In doing so, the two are expanding on the concept they already realised in a short film in 2005.
