That is what it is about

Madison almost dies in a stupid accident at a lake. She crosses the threshold to the realm of the dead for just a brief moment and makes an unpleasant acquaintance with an emissary of death. From then on, the DROWNSMAN hunts the girl every time she comes into contact with water. No matter whether it's a puddle, a shower or a drink: everything becomes a deadly danger! Madison's friends can't bear her deterioration any longer and plan to help her - unaware that they are opening the gates to hell wide open!

What you should know

Horror cinema can be creative, clever and evocative. But it can also play incredibly directly with our fears without bringing up academic analytics. THE DROWNSMAN is like a beloved rollercoaster ride - fast, predictable and just great entertainment. Fasten your seatbelts, get comfortable and enjoy the wild ride into the depths of dark horror worlds, where Freddy Kruger, Michael Meyers or THE DROWNSMAN are waiting to teach you fear!

Direction

After his festival-acclaimed directorial debut NEVERLOST and the tiki horror KILL, up-and-coming talent Chad Archibald worked primarily as a producer or screenwriter and put his name on the credit list of films like ANTISOCIAL and SEPTIC MAN. In 2014, after a three-year break from directing, he presented his fourth work of his own with THE DROWNSMAN, which found its place in the programmes of important film festivals and once again brought Archibald's name to the attention of fans.
